Through lullabies, music and singing, we build.
We build futures of individuals, families, and children.
We build connections across our communities.
We build bridges between cultures and beliefs.
We build memories that will last a lifetime.
Welcome to the Lullaby Project Australia:
Songs to build a better world.
Originating in New York, the Lullaby Project sees pregnant women and new mothers and fathers collaborate with professional artists, as they write and sing personal lullabies for their babies. Supporting the social and emotional health and wellbeing of new parents, the project now reaches parents in healthcare settings, homeless shelters, high schools, foster care, and correctional facilities across the world.
Lullaby Project Australia was established in 2019 by Connecting the Dots in Music through an international partnership with Carnegie Hall, New York. The first ever Australian projects took place across the City of Onkaparinga in South Australia, developed by a team of community and government partners who collectively acknowledge the power of music to improve the lives of individuals and communities.
Beyond the pilot period, the program sits within an ongoing strategy to provide creative opportunities to strengthen family connection, support mental health, and increase access to quality music education for young families. With the support of SA Department of Human Services, Connecting the Dots in Music has lead community consultation and program development across 2020 with a view to growing the project with diverse communities around Australia.
